For more than twenty-five years in the telecommunications infrastructure industry, he has worked as a designer, consultant, manager, teacher, and leader, helping people and organizations solve problems and build stronger teams.
His path has been considerably less orderly than that description might suggest. Along the way have been military service, family life, career changes, financial mistakes, wrong turns, a return to faith, the permanent diaconate, and plenty of lessons learned later than he would have preferred. Those experiences shape much of his nonfiction writing, including the forthcoming Keep Climbing: Taking Responsibility for the Life You Actually Have. His first published work through Torch & Trail Press, The Church Mice of Notre Dame: A Place to Belong, brings many of the same themes of faith, kindness, responsibility, belonging, and hope into stories for young readers and families.
Dcn. Nelson Lowes writes about responsibility, leadership, faith, service, gratitude, and the ordinary choices through which people build their lives. He believes that meaningful influence does not require an extraordinary life; it requires taking responsibility for the one you have been given and using it well.
